Window Tint FAQs New Braunfels > Should I do solar screens or window tint?

Dear Centex,

I've gotten some bids for solar screens for my lake house out on Canyon Lake. I was turned on to solar screens by a neighbor who says they work good but I don't know if it's the best thing for my house. They can be difficult to see out of at times. Although I think the look is decent my wife and I are now maybe considering residential window tint. Do you know if Canyon Lake has any on going window tint rebates like New Braunfels just recently did? If so we might strongly consider window tint over solar screens. It seems heat rejection is really close in comparison so we just want to make the best decision when comparing these two options. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -Mike

Mike,

I'd love to help you out and of course window tint is the best option when it comes to blocking heat, keeping your homes appearance perfect and giving you the ultimate privacy from outsiders. Solar screens greatly restricts your view from the inside looking out which makes it hard to see when a stranger is walking up to your house. At night it's nearly impossible to see out of solar screens unless your yard is very well lit. Window tint that we use offers a lifetime warranty and will block out up to 89% of the sun's heat. Tint comes in many shades just like solar screens so we'll be able to get the right look based on your house color. The City of Canyon Lake does not offer any tint rebates at this time but if you do decide to go with us this summer I'll apply a discount comparable to what New Braunfels is doing. Call me anytime and let's set a time when we can come out and give you a home heat evaluation and window tint bid. Thank you for your time, -Chris
